Our family is reaching out during one of the most difficult moments we have ever faced. My sweet 2-year-old niece, Ayla, has been diagnosed with autoimmune encephalitis, a rare and serious condition that causes the immune system to attack the brain.

On November 1st, Ayla suddenly began showing alarming symptoms and was rushed to the hospital. Her condition quickly became critical, and she was airlifted to Children’s Memorial in St. Louis, where she is now receiving specialized care from an incredible team of doctors and nurses.

Ayla’s mom has not left her side in St. Louis, while my twin brother remains in Springfield, IL, caring for their other three children and trying to keep life as stable as possible for them. With only one income and the overwhelming medical and daily living expenses piling up, this situation has placed a heavy financial strain on the family.

Ayla’s recovery will be long, complex, and filled with ongoing medical needs. We are turning to our community for help—any amount, no matter how small, will make a difference. Your generosity will help with:
