Hi friends, my name is Bailie Willis and Ayana Maryott is one of my best friends and former college roommates. Ayana has given me permission to share her personal journey. On February 18th of this year, Ayana had emergency surgery to remove a large teratoma tumor that seemed to form overnight. At 24 years old, she is now diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and will begin aggressive chemotherapy treatment in the coming weeks.

Ayana moved to Charleston, SC on her own in March of 2025 to pursue a new career in the environmental science field. Unfortunately, Ayana is weeks away from qualifying for paid leave with her job. Therefore, she is taking unpaid leave and will pay for health insurance out of pocket during this indefinite time.

We are accepting donations to support Ayana throughout this journey, and alleviate as much financial stress as possible. All donations will help support Ayana’s medical bills, all living expenses, and upcoming treatments.
