On March 23rd, 2022, just 2 months after his first birthday, Axel was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic (ALL) Leukemia.
After spending 35 days in the hospital and many chemo treatments, he beat leukemia and went into remission.
On March 13th, 2025, his parents took him to the doctor to get him checked for pain he was experiencing that wasn’t going away.
After many tests and scans, they found that his lungs and heart were surrounded by fluid and a tumor around his heart.
He was transported to Iowa Children’s Hospital (1.5 hours away from their home and majority of their family and friends) where they were able to perform a risky, but life saving procedure to place tubes to drain the fluid and relieve the pressure on his airway.
Tests came back and he’s now been diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoma and is facing 2 months of aggressive chemo following 3 more years of outpatient chemo.
Axel has had to fight so much at such a young age. But he’s proven just how strong he is time and time again.
His parents are so grateful for the support, prayers and love that they have received through this journey with Axel.
All proceeds go directly to the Martin family.
