Support Axell Harper's Medical Journey in Florida

Hello! My name is Marissa Harper, sister of Axell Harper. Our mom, Ashley Harper, had recently planned a vacation to Florida for us. Days before we left for vacation, my brother had some trouble with his leg. We took him to 3 different doctors and hospitals back in Michigan. They all explained he just had a sprained ankle and would be okay. We left for our trip and Axell was in excruciating pain the whole way down to Florida. His leg started swelling and getting a red rash. Soon he developed a fever and became nauseous.

As soon as we got to the house in Florida, we decided he needed to go to a hospital. We took him to Sarasota hospital and they did many tests. We then found out he had to be transferred to St. Petersburg children’s hospital and there he would get surgery. He has an infection in his leg that progressively got worse and into his bone. After his first surgery, Axell was doing well. Just yesterday on the 14th, he had some fever come back and his leg was in pain again. They told our mom Axell was going to need surgery again because there was more infection. He is in surgery now and we hope he recovers soon.

Till he’s out, we’ve been bouncing house to house trying to find somewhere to stay that is close enough so we can see him. We’re raising money for gas expenses, somewhere to stay, and my mom's food at the hospital. Most importantly, for Axell. We appreciate any donation and it would truly help out.
