Hello, my name is Skyler. I wanted to make this GoFundMe for my husband Avery, otherwise known as SGT Harris. My husband Avery, unfortunately, got into a bad motorcycle accident on his way to work. He was stopped at a stoplight, and all of a sudden, a dump truck rear-ended him. His kickstand ended up in his leg, which resulted in an amputation above the knee. He had to get a total of nine units of blood to save his life. Luckily someone saw the accident happen and put a tourniquet on his leg just in time. He will be hospitalized for about two more weeks from what we heard, not including rehab and anything else he might need. He also suffers from a broken rib and three compressed fractures in his spine.

With his leg now amputated, he will no longer be able to do a lot of the things he really loves doing, like skiing and continuing to ride his motorcycle. Avery also loves to hike, and he is very adventurous. A lot of things are going to be a lot more difficult for him to achieve.

We are also making this in hopes of getting a good prosthetic for him so that he can possibly still go hiking and do some of the things that he enjoys doing so much with friends and family. We also have a seven-month-old baby boy that really loves to play with his dad, and that, as well as tending to him, is going to be a little bit more difficult and challenging due to his condition.

I wanted to make this to help with funds that may come with this unfortunate situation we are having to face. We are having to move onto Fort Belvoir/military base into an ADA house. We need to come up with funds for the move and a decent prosthetic for him. As mentioned above, there will probably be a lot more financial difficulties to come, and I’m just trying to make this time worry-free for him as much as I can. Anything helps, and everything is most appreciated.
