Hello, my name is Avery! I am a 21-year-old trans woman from Ohio looking to raise funds for my gender-affirming top surgery. Gender dysphoria, defined as "a state of severe distress or unhappiness caused by feeling that one's gender identity does not match one's sex as registered at birth," is considered a mental disorder by the DSM. It is something that transgender people like myself often struggle with. Getting this gender-affirming surgery will help alleviate some of the dysphoria that I experience on a day-to-day basis. Simply helping the outside match the inside!
