Supporting Averi and the Kesner Family.

My name is Rachel, and I am creating this fundraiser for my best friend of more than 20 years, Alex, and her family.

Over the past week, their daughter Averi has gone from being an active, healthy teenager to facing a serious and still undiagnosed medical condition. She has experienced progressive weakness, loss of sensation, mobility challenges, and other neurological symptoms that have required hospitalization and extensive testing.

Averi is currently admitted to Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan, over seven hours from home, while doctors work to find answers. The family does not yet know how long they will need to remain there.

One of the hardest parts of this journey has been watching Averi cope emotionally. She is a dedicated dancer who should be preparing for her recital, nationals, and all the excitement that comes with summer break. Instead, she is spending her days in a hospital bed, facing uncertainty and missing out on the activities she loves most.

As the medical bills, travel expenses, lodging, meals, and lost work continue to add up, I wanted to create a way for those who love this family to help lighten the burden.
