On October 24th, 2024, 23 year old Aveon Thompson was critically injured in a shooting close to home. He was shot seven times and only by the grace of God has survived life threatening bullet wounds. Since the incident, Aveon has had five surgeries on various parts of his body and faces new obstacles with every day that passes. He has lost the use of his legs due to a bullet that instantly damaged his spinal cord. Once released from the hospital, he will spend months in a rehab center adjusting to a new and limited mobility. For the foreseeable future Aveon's everyday life will revolve around pain management and rehabilitation.

Our family is seeking additional care and support for our loved ones. We are hoping to mitigate the majority of the burden of Aveon’s specialized care in the future. Aveon’s permanent injuries will require new living arrangements and constant assistance, another aspect of his life that his loved ones could utilize additional assistance and support in.

Many know Aveon as a smart, funny, creative, and compassionate young man. He is a loving father to his beautiful one year old daughter, Skyla, a loyal friend, a brother, a nephew, and a grandson of a family that loves him deeply.
