Hello! We are Ava & Lyra, we're trans women based in Baltimore and we're raising money to afford our bottom surgeries. Gender-affirming care is expensive and difficult, so by donating you are helping the both of us close the gap to be able to afford our surgeries and stay afloat financially in recovery.

If you're not familiar with this surgery, post-operatively, patients are hospitalized for 5-7 days, followed by 6--8 weeks of low mobility recovery time. Surgeons recommend taking a full 12-weeks away from work! If you have ever had major surgery or know somebody who has, then you know that life's expenses don't pause when you need to stop working to recover; thus, this fundraiser.

If you're here then you already know this, but it’s a very difficult time for trans people to make a stable living, let alone move forward with affirming care. Any donation, no matter how small, and sharing this fundraiser with your networks would help us both prepare for the cost of surgery and help us build financial stability to focus on healing after surgery.
