This November, a group of us from the DSNY Running Club will be running the New York City Marathon. For many of us, it’s not our first race, but it is one of the most meaningful. We’ve decided to dedicate our miles to a cause that touches countless families.
Autism isn’t something distant or rare. Chances are you know someone personally who is on the spectrum, whether it’s a family member, a friend’s child, or a coworker’s loved one. Every story is unique, but one thing is shared: the need for greater understanding, more resources, and better support for individuals and families living with autism.
Running 26.2 miles is a challenge, but it’s temporary. Families affected by autism navigate challenges every single day. That’s why we’re asking for your support. By donating, you’ll help fund research, advocacy, and programs that directly impact people’s lives, from early diagnosis to job opportunities and community inclusion.
We know not everyone can run a marathon, but this is a way for anyone to be part of the effort. Even a small contribution can go a long way in creating more opportunities, more awareness, and more hope.
On race day, when the miles get hard, knowing we’re running for something bigger than ourselves will carry us forward. And we hope you’ll be with us in spirit, every step of the way.
