August 12, 2025 My sister wrote: On behalf of my family and I, we are deeply humbled and profoundly grateful for the outpouring of love, support, and generosity that has lifted us up during this incredibly difficult time. We are truly blessed to have friends and family who have helped us navigate this dark hour, and we are forever thankful for the prayers, kindness, and compassion that have sustained us. We ask for your continued prayers and support as we move forward, and we are eternally grateful for your presence in our lives.

On behalf of my sister and her family, I feel compelled to set up this GoFundMe. The following was taken from her Facebook page:

On August 1, our son, Austin, passed in his sleep. As a family, we are still trying to process and understand how a 20-year-old young man could pass so unexpectedly. We are broken-hearted over his loss and because of the suddenness of his passing, we are unfortunately, faced with the dire need for help in paying for his memorial expenses.

God sent Austin to us just a month after he turned four due to his mother's untimely passing. With love, patience, and guidance from many, many friends, family, and colleagues, he learned to talk, read, write, and love! He was very tech-savvy and enjoyed working on computers. He had a humble heart, an honest nature, and an appreciation for the simple things in life. He had a dry wit which often brought smiles and laughter, was full of unexpected surprises, and will be fondly remembered for the nicknames he gave to everyone he loved (which may or may not have always been appropriate). He was a blessing to all who knew him and our hearts are very heavy with his loss.
