Hello, my name is Julie. I am asking for help for my friend Catherine Nocito’s son. His name is Austin Conceicao. He is a hardworking 26-year-old who had been working full-time until a few weeks ago. He started having back pain a month or so ago but thought he just pulled a muscle. A couple of weeks later, it was severe enough that he ended up in the ER. He was diagnosed with a lumbar compression fracture and a possible abscess at the time. After a change of doctors and a couple more tests, his doctor told him that it was a tumor and eventually had him transferred to Moffitt in Tampa.

Yesterday, his doctor at Moffitt told him he has Stage 4 cancer that has metastasized to his lung, lymph nodes, and spine. He will also be needing chemotherapy & radiation after today’s back surgery.

Austin turned 26 this year, and unfortunately, he was dropped from his mom's insurance. Although he worked full-time for a company he truly appreciates, they do not offer medical insurance. Austin will need a lot of support physically and financially. Austin is trying to stay very positive; he has a great attitude and fully trusts the team that is caring for him right now.
