Support Austin Anderson's Fight Against Lymphoma
Donation protected
In July of 2024, Austin Anderson was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. In August of 2024, Austin began treatment for his cancer and was admitted to Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa. He remained at Moffitt for 2 weeks to treat his symptoms and begin chemotherapy. Unfortunately, in early September while at NCH in Naples for a routine appointment, Austin was admitted due to contracting an infection that caused Sepsis. He was put on a ventilator and underwent surgery for a life-saving ECMO machine to aid his body in fighting off the infection. The ECMO machine does the work for his heart and lungs, allowing them to rest and also allowing his other organs and body to focus on fighting the infection and heal.
Austin is showing small improvements every day, but there is a long road ahead and treatments are still needed to fight the cancer. As of today (9/10), Austin has been taken off the ventilator and is awake, talking and joking with family, doctors, and nurses.
At some point this week, Austin will be transferred via helicopter to Tampa General Hospital to continue healing and using the ECMO machine until his body is strong enough to be without it. Once the ECMO is removed, Austin will be transferred to Moffitt Cancer Center where he will remain for his chemotherapy treatment. We will continue to post updates as we receive them.
Please help us support Austin and his partner Jennifer Bertrand in this difficult time. Any donation is appreciated and will go towards Austin’s overwhelming medical care and bills. If you are unable to donate money, please consider donating blood or platelets.
Austin is a beloved son, brother, partner, friend, and cat dad. A lover of food, the Braves, and golf of any kind.
With your help and support, we can fight this cancer and help Austin and Jennifer’s lives return to normal.
