Support Austin & Amy Smith

Story

In April, Austin and Amy are expecting a baby and are already facing an unexpected and challenging journey. The baby has been diagnosed with hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS), a serious condition where the left side of the heart is not fully developed. If left untreated, HLHS is fatal. While there are surgical options to attempt to correct the condition, they involve significant pain, suffering, and uncertainty, with no clear guarantee of a positive outcome or acceptable quality of life. As you can imagine, this news has brought about a great deal of concern and uncertainty as Austin and Amy navigate making very difficult decisions for their family. They are working closely with a team of doctors to understand what lies ahead for the baby and their family, and they have made the difficult decision to pursue compassionate care, as they seek the best options for their baby's comfort and quality of life. The baby will need to be born in Aurora, Colorado, which means they will be away from home and work for an uncertain period of time. During this difficult time, we are reaching out for your prayers and support. Your kindness, encouragement, and any contributions will go a long way in helping cover medical expenses, travel, lodging, and time away from work as they focus on caring for their family. We are truly grateful for the love and support you can offer as we face this challenging season together. Thank you for standing by us. Your prayers and support mean more than words can express.
