What happens when ambition becomes survival?
Hi, my name is Auset Adams, and I’m a 16-year-old filmmaker. Earlier this year, I was selected as one of ten teen directors across the country to create a short film with Black Girls Film Camp, a program that uplifts and funds Black girls in film.
With their support, I wrote and directed Black(out), a psychological thriller about a Black girl navigating a tech internship assessment that quickly unravels into something far more dangerous. This project means everything to me because it explores themes of identity, conformity, and the pressure to succeed, especially as a young Black woman.
The film is complete, and now I am working to share it with the world. Your support will help cover festival submission fees, travel costs, and promotional materials so Black(out) can reach audiences who connect with its story.
You can watch Black(out) now on the Black Girls Film Camp website or directly through this link: https://youtu.be/-jf4T0ezcEQ?si=7SeP1TfwkzwiZMT6
Thank you so much for taking the time to read and support. Every contribution, share, and kind word helps this film go further.
