Hi everyone , my name is Aurora Martinez . This is a really hard thing for me to share but I’m hoping that by sharing I can in some way help my sister have one less thing to worry about while she goes through this life changing situation.

On June 14th, 2024 my little sister was diagnosed with Her2positive invasive ductal carcinoma on her left breast . Me and my family were just speechless since cancer isn’t something that runs in the family and we never thought my healthy and very active sister would be going through this at age 35. All we could do was cry but then pick up the pieces and be her rock . Be strong for her . Be her solace in such an uncertain and scary time in her life.

She has been so positive and strong so far but she has a long road ahead of her . The main reason for this go fund me for her is so she can have one less thing to worry about . I want her to focus all her energy on fighting this and beating this. She has the stress of not having her full income while she’s out for 6+ months during chemo , surgery and radiation. To top it all of the insurance doesn’t cover cold capping . Cold capping is to try and preserve as much of her hair while on chemo that has the side effect of hair loss . The thing people don’t understand is that it’s not about vanity . My sisters exact words were as follows . “ To wake up and look in the mirror and not recognizing the person in front of me is scary . Saving as much of my hair during this process will give me some normalcy during such a chaotic time . My hair is a part of me. It is a part of my personality”. When she told me that I couldn’t help but cry . I understood that and felt that deep inside . Any donation is appreciated and accepted. A little goes a long way. My sister is such a kind and caring person . Always smiling and her energy and her soul is just so beautiful. I know she will appreciate any help and be very moved .
