My name is Katie and I’m a neighbor and family friend of the Romano Family. I am fundraising on behalf of Joe and Jen Romano, as they navigate the difficult journey of their daughter’s brain cancer. Let’s support them in any way that we can!

Aurora is a bright, creative, and resilient little girl who has already faced more medical challenges than most people do in a lifetime. At a very young age, she was diagnosed with brain tumors affecting her optic pathway—tumors that directly impact her vision.

After months of chemotherapy, countless appointments, scans, and procedures, Aurora bravely completed her first round of treatment. The Romano family hoped that chapter was behind them. Unfortunately, recent MRI imaging showed that some of her tumors have regrown, and she now must begin chemotherapy again. A biopsy is planned to better understand the tumors and guide the safest and most effective treatment moving forward.

Because of where the tumors are located, Aurora has already experienced vision loss, and there is concern that her eyesight may be further affected in the future. The reality is that her medical journey is ongoing. Even after this round of treatment, there is a possibility that she may need additional therapies, interventions, or supportive care as she grows.

The Romano family is creating this fundraiser not just to help with current medical expenses, but to support Aurora’s long-term health and future needs. Funds raised will help cover:

    •    Ongoing and future medical treatments and therapies

    •    Vision-related care, evaluations, and adaptive support

    •    Travel, time off work, and unforeseen costs related to long-term treatment

    •    Any future needs that arise as a result of her diagnosis

Aurora continues to face everything with courage, joy, and strength well beyond her years. The Romanos are endlessly grateful for the love, prayers, and support surrounding their family.
