Dear Community,

As I approach my 20th year in education, I’ve been given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity–and I need your support to make it a reality!

I’m honored to share that I’ve been selected by the American Institute for Resource and Human Development (AIRHD) Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, to participate in a Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad (GPA) program in Tanzania, East Africa next month.

This five-week, unpaid, professional development experience is part of a prestigious Research and Curriculum Development Project titled: “Understanding the Interplay of Environment and Culture through Everyday Life in Tanzania: A Short-Term Curriculum Development Seminar for American Educators.” Through this program, I will collaborate with U.S. and Tanzanian educators to create meaningful, globally-informed curriculum. The work we produce will be submitted to the U.S. Dept. of Education-International Resource Information System (IRIS) and incorporated into my classroom in the fall.

While the core program is funded, there are still out-of-pocket expenses totaling $5,000:

Required documentation and travel supplies for use in Tanzania

Ground transportation and incidental travel expenses

Planning and preparation materials to design
