Support Aunt Thuy's Journey to Recovery
Donation protected
On Friday, February 23, 2024, our beloved aunt Thuy experienced a life-altering accident that no one could have anticipated. While walking in the parking lot of the Bloomington Sam’s Club, she was tragically hit and run over by an SUV. The impact was severe, causing her to lose consciousness immediately after her head struck the ground. The emergency department revealed multiple fractures in her bilateral lower extremities, lower back, and facial bones. The gravity of her injuries led to multiple surgeries, including a right hip replacement, pinning in her pelvis and left ankle. She is fortunately stable and recovering from her surgeries, yet the road ahead is long and filled with challenges.
Thuy is now facing a future where she must undergo extensive rehabilitation. Her injuries had rendered her unable to bear weight on her leg for the next two and a half months, making it impossible for her to work or carry out her daily activities. Her situation is further complicated by the fact that she has no next of kin, and the driver responsible for her injuries did not have auto insurance at the time of the accident, forcing her to rely on her own insurance to cover the overwhelming medical bills.
Thuy is the epitome of kindness and generosity, always the first to offer help to others in their time of need. Therefore we are reaching out to the community, friends, and family to support Aunt Thuy's long recovery journey. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly towards her medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, and helping her navigate through this incredibly tough time without the added stress of financial burdens. Thank you for your support, thoughts, and prayers during this challenging time!
