Help save a community Store, Youngers Trading Post — A Legacy of Service, Family, and Resilience. In business since 1989!
I never imagined I’d be writing this, but here we are—reaching out with hope, humility, and faith in the power of community.
My Aunt Sissy has spent years pouring her heart, time, and soul into her store. It’s more than a business. It’s a place of connection, kindness, and hard work—and a way for her to serve others while building something meaningful to leave behind for her children and grandchildren.
Through her store, Sissy has quietly given back in countless ways. She helps provide resources and incontinence supplies to local nursing homes, making prom dreams possible by offering affordable dresses to her community, and she regularly steps in to support families in need or going through devastating hardships, offering necessary supplies when they need them most. This isn’t something she advertises—it’s simply who she is.
In recent years, Sissy has faced unexpected financial hardships compounded by the heartbreaking loss of her husband. Grieving while trying to carry on has been overwhelming. Still, she continues to show up—working long hours, cutting expenses, and doing everything possible to keep the store open and continue serving others.
Unfortunately, rising costs, slow periods, and circumstances beyond her control have brought her to a critical point. Time is not on our side. Without immediate support, Aunt Sissy may be forced to close the doors—not just on a store, but on a place that so many people quietly rely on, and on a legacy she hoped to leave for her children.
This fundraiser is being started because the need is urgent. The funds raised will go directly toward keeping the store open—covering essential expenses, stabilizing operations, and giving Aunt Sissy the breathing room she needs to heal, regain her footing, and continue helping those who depend on her.
Sissy is the kind of person who gives endlessly to others and rarely asks for help herself. Asking for support does not come easily to her—or to our family—but we believe that sometimes strength means allowing others to step in.
If you’re able to donate, please know that every contribution—no matter the amount—makes a real difference. If you’re unable to give financially, sharing this page means just as much.
Thank you for taking the time to read her story, for your compassion, and for helping us protect a business that gives back so much to its community.
With gratitude and hope,
Holly
