Our family had an addition exactly a year ago today, Bagel the beagle. Just one year of caring for this sweet pup and watching the bond between him and Augie grow, and now we have been hit with the news that he has heartworms.

Heartworms are not a cheap diagnosis to treat and we are looking at nearly $2000 in expenses between now and January.

Those who know our family know that both Josephine and Augie's birthdays are in December, as well as, of course, Christmas. This time of year is always tight for us, but this year feels impossible with this recent news.

We have taken Bagel to training, given him baths, played fetch and tug of war. He sleeps in bed with Augie, snuggled right behind him. Bagel is part of our family.

I'm not one to ask for help typically, but for Augie and his doggie, I'll do what it takes. If you can afford to contribute and even share this crowd fund, it would mean the world to all of us!
