Support Audrey Mae and her road to recovery

Audrey, my friend's child who is loved so much by family and friends, has been through an unimaginable ordeal. A couple of weeks ago, she accidentally poured a pot of coffee on herself and suffered severe burns from the waist up. After an initial hospital stay in Madison, things took a turn for the worse when Audrey developed a fever and her condition rapidly declined. Despite a visit to the local ER, her family had to rush her back to Madison, where she was sedated so her wounds could be checked and cleaned. Tragically, Audrey crashed in the ICU and came dangerously close to not making it. She spent many days on life support, and her family faced the terrifying possibility of losing her. Thankfully, Audrey has shown incredible strength and has made progress—she’s now off life support and the ventilator, and is getting closer to being transferred to general care. There have been many ups and downs, and doctors are still searching for answers, possibly an infection, but Audrey’s family is taking things day by day and hoping for a full recovery. Through all of this, her family has been by her side, supporting her every step of the way. The emotional toll has been immense, with time away from work and bills adding to the stress. Any support you can give will make a difference for Audrey and her family as they focus on her healing and recovery in the hospital and after the hospital. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to them during this incredibly difficult time.

UPDATE
After a long month, on Sunday Feb 8th we were finally able to go home with Audrey on feeding tubes, many medications, and a long road ahead yet. She was so happy to be home though. Unfortunately, on Monday her smile faded and she started to become ill and it only got worse. We took her to the local pediatrician and from there we took her back to Madison. After many tests they found a very severe infection in her blood. Sadly, they had to reopen, and leave open, her chest incision and sternum to try and remove the infection that has gone very deep. The doctors have told us we could be at the hospital for another 6 weeks while she is being treated and.observed. If she has shown us anything, it is that she is such a strong little fighter. We know she will fight this just as hard as she fought the countless number of complications she has endured and is still trying to overcome. We thank everyone so much for their generosity, kind words, thoughts, and prayers. It has been a heartbreaking and rough journey to say the least, and still a very long road ahead. We couldn't get through all this though without the love and support of all of you. It means such an unbelievable amount to us to see the love people have for Audrey. And also the amount of love and support for Thorr and I as well. We are so very grateful for all of you. Thank you all so much.
