Hi everyone! Coming to y'all under pretty unfortunate circumcstances; I'm reaching out to community for support with an emergency housing situation. As many of you know, I very recently moved into an apartment in Little Village on March 30th and quickly realized that the place was dangerous and unlivable. There's major electrical issues, sewer gas leaking in my bathroom, mold, roaches and host of other problems that violate my rights as a tenant. I need to leave as soon as possible but I just paid this landlord (scammer) $2400 to live in what amounted to be a musty basement.

Hey everyone! If you didn't know, I just left a full-time position as a harm reduction worker at an non-profit (evil) at the end of March with the intention of staying in my current apartment. However, my landlord waited until the last legal day (April 30th) to tell me he is selling my apartment unit, and I have to vacate by June 30th. Since leaving the nonprofit industry, my main source of income is spicy work, and that can be very unstable in the summer. I was not anticipating having to move, but luckily, Audra and I decided to be roommates (yay!) and are making a joint bid for support.

Money is tight right now and neither of us are prepared financially to move but we have to! We're asking for $5000 to cover the cost of first and last months rent (or a move in fee), movers for both of us, and application fees. Please donate if you can and share share share! Thank you all!
