We are the Student Academy of Audiology (SAA) at the University of Florida. We consist of UFs Doctor of Audiology Students. We are currently working hard to raise funds for our Project Yucatán 2026!

Every year we travel to the Yucatán region of Mexico to provide free audiological services and support to under-served communities in the Yucatan region in Mexico. The project aims to improve access to hearing healthcare and enhance the quality of life for individuals with hearing impairments in these communities.

At Project Yucatán 2024, we were able to serve over 700 individuals and fit 50 free hearing aids to primarily children. We performed a variety of hearing tests, device managements, and ear wax cleanings. It was an incredibly impactful trip, and we know that these patients are awaiting our return for the 2025 project!

This humanitarian trip relies on fundraising efforts to cover travel expenses, purchase audiological equipment, and provide financial assistance to those in need of hearing aids or other hearing healthcare services. By raising funds through various means the project ensures the sustainability and continuity of its mission. Our current and future goal is to raise funds for our upcoming and forthcoming trips, allowing us to provide audiological services to these communities.
