Support Atlas's Long Road to Recovery

Hi everyone, my name is Gina, and if anyone knows me, they’d tell you how much my dogs mean to me. They are my life. Unfortunately, on Wednesday, 4/30, I found my boy Atlas acting ataxic. He was still coherent and walking a little, but not well. I was so scared I rushed him to the ER. On the way to the hospital, he had 2-3 seizures. When he got to the hospital, my amazing co-workers worked fast to stabilize him. His bloodwork showed his sodium was too high, as if he got into a bunch of salt, which I know he didn’t; he was in his cage sleeping. He was becoming more and more of a mystery case and more ataxic as time went on. He had to get an ultrasound, X-ray, continuous bloodwork, and be obviously hospitalized. He had two more seizures after that. Watching my dog be completely with it but unable to move is probably one of the worst feelings I’ve ever felt, but I am doing absolutely everything we can. Thankfully, he is comfortable. After much testing and nothing adding up, we are treating him as an epileptic with a neck injury, and he is responding to treatment, thank God. With that being said, his bill is adding up even though I’m an employee; it’s still very high with all the care he needs, and it’s going to be a very long road to recovery with a lot of physical therapy and medication. My partner and I just bought a house, and we are expecting our first baby. This is a lot for us, and we’re reaching out for help. If there’s anything you could donate or even share our story, we would greatly appreciate it. Thank you all, and please keep Atlas in your prayers as he’s not out of the woods yet.
