Hello everyone,

I am raising funds for a friend and former classmate suffering from incurable cancer.

Atif Khan was raised in Pakistan where he studied medicine and I met him during medical school. He was a very down-to-earth and friendly individual. He was hard-working, kind and dedicated. He worked very hard to become a doctor and following this continued his journey to pursue training as a pediatrician in the US. Coming from a third-world country there are several different challenges one has to overcome and he faced them all. He completed his training and decided to settle down in Columbus, OH.

Unfortunately, at a time when he should have been looking forward to a long and prosperous career he was diagnosed with an extremely aggressive form of cancer; he was diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma. For the past several years he has been fighting a battle with this deadly disease. He has been treated time and again and has also been enrolled in different clinical trials around the country and although he has had some successes along the way these have always been temporary and short-lived. He has exhausted all options and most recently has been transferred to hospice care. He did everything he could for the sake of his family but now he is at a stage where there are no options left for him.

Atif has been a model of patience, bravery and kindness throughout all his struggles. He has fought every battle valiantly and always with a smile on his face and kindness in his heart. Where many would have cracked and given up ages ago, he has struggled and fought tirelessly. Now however it seems that the tide has turned for the worst.

Atif has a young family; a wife and a young 3-year-old son. He was the sole breadwinner and without being able to work regularly for the past few years he and his family have had to face several difficulties. In extremely trying times due to his health as well due circumstances such as the pandemic he has worked tirelessly to make sure his family is provided for. We are all tested in different ways and he has had more than his fair share. Now, even as he lies helpless, he has multiple worries and concerns and we need to support him generously so that he knows that even when he is gone, his family will be taken care of.

In this time of great need, please consider helping Atif and his family. We are raising funds for Atif and his family that will hopefully help alleviate some of the difficulties and burdens they are facing. Everyone has challenges in life and Atif has faced each battle with a brave face and with tremendous patience. Please do your part to help him and his family in this time of need; kindness is never lost and perhaps some day in your hour of need your kindness will come back to help you when you need it the most.
