Support Athena's Urgent Vet Care Needs
Donation protected

Asking for assistance for vet bills for my mom's cat, Athena. She is a 14 year old sweet and sassy baby. She is an adoring lap cat we have had in the family for 10 years.
She has been feeling under the weather for a few weeks, and we have taken her to her regular vet a few times. Yesterday evening we took her to VetCheck urgent care. With x-rays, the vets discovered she has a collapsed lung and fluid building up in her chest around her lungs and heart. She also has pneumonia. We don't yet know the cause but are seeking treatment. She is currently receiving oxygen and will have fluid removed from her chest at IndyVet while we attempt to figure out what is going on with her.
Update 5/31/24
Athena was hospitalized the first night to receive oxygen, imaging and thoracocentesis twice to pull the fluid out of her chest. She was so scared and never had been away from home. Testing did not point to trauma or heart failure. They found nodules in her lungs and unsure if it is cancer. We are awaiting results from pathology. We took her home to make her comfortable as they are sure she will fill up with fluid again.
Any donations will be used to fund the cost of her emergency/urgent care visits and continued palliative care. We thank you for anything, even just a share.
