My companion Athena is 9 and a half years old, and she and I have been together since she was a puppy. She is my world and seriously one of the sweetest souls I’ve ever known. She is definitely my soul dog! I’ve been sure to give her good veterinary care her whole life, but every dog gets old and Athena’s body is starting to show signs of age. I’ve been able to address mobility issues, but now a cancerous mammary tumor has grown on her belly and it needs to be removed as soon as possible so it does not rupture and end her life. The veterinarians have given Athena the all-clear for surgery, but it needs to be done as soon as possible in order to save her life, and I do not have the funds to cover the surgery. Athena has saved me so many times through the course of her life and now I’m asking for your help to save her. Anything you can do to help in this goal is appreciated from the bottom of my heart!

About Athena:

Athena is in good spirits through all of this. She’s energetic and still so happy and wants to play and eat treats! She has a kitty companion and they snuggle and play when I’m away, so I know she’s living a happy and fulfilled life. That tells me her life is worth saving.

About Why I need your help:

The last few years have been tough between my extensive medical issues and having to leave an unsafe housing situation. Athena has been my rock through it all. But it has left me in a place where I can’t financially support this surgery. I am not the kind of person who is comfortable asking for money or help, but her life is priceless and for her, I will do anything!!
