Support Aspen's Family During Todd's Recovery

Hello my name is Aspen I’m a wife and mother to a 4 year old daughter. Recently my husband had to have open heart surgery and things didn’t go as well as we expected. Since I have had to take off work to take care of him and my daughter both we are having a hard time with funds for our monthly bills.

Our Story:

My husband Todd found out that he was in need of a bypass heart surgery the middle of September. We got surgery scheduled then he came down with a fever from an infection from the heart catheter procedure so surgery had to be postponed. About a week later we were able to get a new surgery date on September 27th he was the first patient of the day. I had got the call that the doctor was ready to meet and tell me how the surgery went, at that time they said everything had went all good. I was able to go back and see him for about 20 minutes in the ICU room. All of his stats were looking good and he needed to rest so I had left with our daughter and my mom back to the hotel. Then I received a call from the hospital about an hour and half after I had left telling me something was going wrong so I drove back to the hospital to find out that his one graft had failed causing him to have a heart attack and the second one was compromised they took him back for another heart catheter to see if they could fix the problem there instead of opening him back up. They were able to get blood flow back to the areas that needed it but his heart had a good amount of damage so they placed a ballon pump to help his heart recover. That Saturday he was in pain but we thought we were getting better, then Sunday he ended up having another heart attack. They took him back to the cath lab and was able to stent and reopen the blood flow. We spent a whole week in the hospital before we were able to come home. We now have a long recovery ahead of us and unsure on when we will be able to return to work.
