We’re Asif and Megan, a dedicated sailing team on a mission to make history by representing India at the Star Sailing World Championship in San Diego, California, from September 7-13, 2024. This event is a significant milestone, as it will be the first time in over 100 years that a team with "IND" on their sails competes in this prestigious championship.

Who We Are

• Asif: Asif is a passionate sailor and rocket scientist from India, currently pursuing a PhD in Space Propulsion in the USA. With extensive experience across various sailing classes, he is dedicated to mentoring emerging sailors and advancing the sport. Asif’s blend of technical expertise and strategic sailing makes him a formidable competitor and a committed advocate for the growth of sailing.

• Megan: Megan is one of the youngest female sailors in the Star Class and a future pilot pursuing an aviation degree. She has overcome significant challenges in a traditionally male-dominated field, and under Asif’s mentorship, she has grown into a skilled competitor, participating in prominent events like the Western Hemisphere Championship and the Bacardi Cup. Megan’s journey is about more than personal success; it’s about leading the way for greater female representation in sailing.
