We adopted Ashton from a no-kill shelter, Simply Cats, when he was 6 years old. Before that, he had spent his early years as a stray, wandering an apartment complex in search of food. A kind tenant took notice and brought him to safety, giving him a chance at a better life. Since that day, Ashton has been a cherished part of our family, bringing us endless joy with his quirky behavior and love for attention.

Recently, Ashton became seriously ill due to stress and had to be rushed to the emergency vet to unblock his urethra and ensure he didn't die from infection. Thankfully, he received the care he needed and is on the mend, but the ER bills have been substantial. While Ashton is now recovering, we are asking for help to pay off the medical expenses that came with saving his life.

Ashton is not just a pet to us—he’s a core part of our emotional well-being. Our apartment complex understands that Emotional Support Animals are more than pets, and their words resonated deeply with us: "We treat them like medical equipment—they're a necessity."
