My name is Lena, and today I’m reaching out with a heavy but hopeful heart. I’m starting this fundraiser for two people who mean the world to me—my best friend of ten years, Ashton, and her beautiful daughter, Adalynn.
In the picture above is Ashton holding her sweet girl. For those who know them, and for those who may only now be learning their story, Adalynn went to be with her Savior on Tuesday, November 11th. Her life was a miracle from the very beginning. When she was very young, she was diagnosed with an extremely rare chronic illness called Bohring-Opitz Syndrome. The journey to that diagnosis was long—years filled with hospital stays, countless tests, and visits with specialists who tried their best to understand her needs.
With the severity of her condition, doctors did not expect Adalynn to live past the age of two. But God had other plans. He showed us all that her life had purpose far beyond any medical projection. She lived, she thrived, and she shined longer than anyone believed possible. And while she ultimately lost her battle, she did so with a grace and beauty that touched every heart around her.
Adalynn was a light—radiant, joyful, and full of a quiet strength. No matter what she faced, she smiled. She loved. She brought comfort. She had a way of brightening even the hardest days, reminding everyone who met her what true resilience looks like.
She leaves behind her younger sister Tinlee, her brother Walker, and the newest little blessing in the family, baby sister Taytum.
Her mother, Ashton, has walked this journey by her daughter’s side since the day she was born. As a single mother, she carried every responsibility, every worry, every sleepless night with unwavering love. She never hesitated. She never questioned. She simply cared for her daughter with everything she had. And she continues to care for all her children with the same devotion.
Because Adalyn’s passing was so sudden, there was no time to prepare for something no parent should ever have to face. She did not have life insurance, and the costs of a funeral, burial, and the many unexpected expenses that follow are significant. On top of that, Ashton has been a stay-at-home mother since Adalynn’s birth due to the high level of care required, and the financial stress now placed on the family is immense.
Ashton needs time to grieve. Her children need time to heal. They deserve the space to process this loss without shouldering an overwhelming financial burden.
Every donation made will go directly to Ashton and her children to help with funeral arrangements and immediate financial needs during this unimaginable time. Anything—no matter the amount—will be received with deep gratitude.
Thank you for loving this family, for lifting them up, and for helping carry them through a moment no mother should ever have to walk alone.
