Support Comic Artist Ash's Battle Against Breast Cancer

Dear friends, comic readers and art enthusiasts,

Hello, my name is Claudia Solis but you might know me as Vice, and I'm part of the duo of artists SK6 along with Ash Kohari, my art partner but also my WIFE.

Today, we gather not only as art fans but as a compassionate community, rallying around Ash during a challenging chapter in her life.

Ash, whose comics and illustrations have brightened countless days, now faces a surprise adversary: cancer.

The last month has been a very bumpy ride. After her yearly routine checkup, her results came up with the warning of something bad going on in her left breast, and upon quick response, exams of biopsy, pathology and correct analysis, she was diagnosed with breast cancer (type: HER2/neu positive)

This has been developing very quickly, in the past 3 weeks we've been receiving harsh news after harsh news. And of course these news come with a harsh cut on our economy as well.

These funds gathered though this fundraiser are going to be focused ENTIRELY on her treatment.

First thing in her treatment is a double mastectomy to remove both her breasts. Which will be performed today (24th of April of 2024) it's imperative that we do this right away since her cancer has quick growth.

Secondly, there is two options on the mastectomy outcome, if the sentinel lymph nodes are healthy, she will still undergo a targeted treatment for the type of cancer diagnosed along with chemotherapy for SIX MONTHS. The other option is if her sentinel lymph nodes are compromised and are affected already by the cancer, the treatment will last for ONE YEAR, which is basically the same treatment but for double the time.

Why Ash isn't fundraising for herself? Well that's another bump in this ride.

When she did her paperwork to become a Permanent Resident, they registered her information incorrectly but we didn't notice at first. But then when she decided to go get a bank account, she got informed at the bank that it was impossible for her to get a bank account until that mistake was fixed, this, obviously has less importance than the problem she's already facing, so we decided as a couple that I will be receiving the funds fully and that she trusts me with them for the expenses of the cancer treatment.

As we navigate this journey together, Ash is helped by her own art and creativity. Even amidst treatments and uncertainty, she said she will continue to draw and tell her stories. Her spirit is a beacon, reminding us that creativity heals, connects, and uplifts.
