Hello!

My name is Ashrafu Ally. I am from Tanzania and have been admitted into Alfred University in New York. I first want to thank you for taking the time to read my story. I am writing to ask for your help to reach my educational ambitions.

I was born in the Singida region in Tanzania and was raised by a single-parent, mother. Despite our struggles, I never let my background hold me back. I knew that with hard work and determination, I could make a difference—not just for myself, but for my community.

I attended Alfarouq Pre & Primary School under full sponsorship, which is offered to children with single parents in my region. My dedication to my studies throughout my primary school years earned me a government-sponsored scholarship to one of the best and most prestigious schools in the country, Ilboru Secondary School. At Ilboru, I maintained my performance as the best student throughout my four years of secondary school education and eventually graduated as the fifth-best student nationwide in my final exams. I was then offered a full-ride scholarship to Feza Boys' High School, another prestigious school in my country. My journey hasn’t been easy, but I’ve always believed in the power of education to change lives.

I am deeply honored to have been admitted into Alfred University for the class of 2029. I have always wanted to be a software developer and being admitted to major in Computer Science will help me reach my dream. Alfred University has considered and offered me a dean's scholarship which will cover my tuition and accommodation. However, I need support to cover my enrollment fee, visa costs, and flight ticket as I prepare to join Alfred University this Fall.
