Dear kind souls,
My name is Abdelrazeq almajayda, a Palestinian student, from Gaza, currently studying in Tunisia. I am reaching out to you today to seek your support for my dear friend Ashraf Lubbed, a resilient individual fighting to maintain his craft and livelihood amidst the ongoing crisis in Gaza.
Before I share Ashraf's story, it's important to note that I haven’t been able to see him in years due to the struggle of living under occupation and apartheid. I miss my friend, I miss Gaza, and I pray every day for the safety and reunification of our people.
Ashraf's Story:
"In April 2023, after eight long years of studying music abroad, I returned to my homeland, Gaza, to reconnect with my family and pursue my passion for music. During my time abroad, I earned a master's degree in musicology and violin performance. However, upon my return, I found myself caught in the devastating whirlwind of war.

Due to the conflict, I could not work in music, but my passion to create remained. After being displaced to Khan Younis, I began working with my hands, pursuing carpentry and woodworking to survive. I started collecting wood wastes and recycled it to be usable in making furniture—tables, chairs, wardrobes, kitchen tools, and bakery equipment—all to help those who had lost everything in the war. This new craft became my lifeline, and I found success in selling my creations.
Now, I want to take this craft further. I’ve gained valuable experience in carpentry and woodworking, and my ultimate goal is to manufacture musical instruments. However, to reach this dream, I need financial support to buy rare and expensive equipment, pay high bank commissions, and maintain my workspace. My family of eight depends on me to cover their living expenses, and the war has made it nearly impossible to continue this journey alone.
These are some of the most difficult and painful days, but I remain hopeful that with your help, I will be able to keep pursuing my dream of creating music and continuing my craft. Please consider supporting me, whether through moral, financial, or informational assistance. Your support can help me rebuild and create something beautiful out of these tragic circumstances."
Why We Need Your Help:
The funds we raise will go directly to Ashraf in Khan Younis-Gaza-Palestine to support his work by bank transfer. This money will help:
- Cover high bank commissions on transfers
- Maintain his workspace and purchase essential, rare tools
- Help develop his carpentry skills, ultimately leading to the creation of musical instruments
- Support his family (his father, mother, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and his uncle) with their daily living expenses in these hard times.
