My friend Ashley was in a car accident and severely injured

My coworker/close friend Ashly was in a motor vehicle accident while taking an uber with a friend on their way back from dinner. The Uber driver got hit by an intoxicated driver. This accident resulted in Ashly being transported to Stony Brook Hospital with a broken femur and broken ribs.

My friend needed three blood transfusions from the amount of blood she lost, had trouble with her body removing urine (urinary retention) due to the impact on her body, needed surgery to fix the broken femur, is currently undergoing physical therapy, and will not be able to return to work for some time. Ashly is a single mother of a 3-year-old boy and works as an aide in an emergency room taking care of patients.
