Hello friends ! For those who are not familiar with this story….PLEASE use your next few minutes on reading this post.

*Help Ashlyn Continue Her Fight Against Stage IV Breast Cancer !*

Ashlyn Hare is only 34 years old. She is by far one of the kindest, sweetest, and most compassionate people you could ever have the privilege of knowing. She is a devoted follower of Jesus Christ whose faith has remained incredibly strong throughout circumstances that would test anyone beyond measure. She is a loving wife, a phenomenal mother to four beautiful children, and a registered nurse who spent years caring for others before illness changed the course of her own life.

Soon after giving birth to her fourth child, Ashlyn discovered a lump in her breast. For months, she was told that it was just mastitis, a common postpartum occurrence in breastfeeding mothers. Tragically, this delayed the real diagnosis and the beginning of the treatment she urgently needed. In August 2023, Ashlyn was officially diagnosed with breast cancer and this is where her journey began.

She immediately began chemotherapy and finished that course in December. In January of 2024, she had a bilateral mastectomy along with breast reconstruction. During this time, her surgeon discovered that the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes. She was put on hormone blockers and also began a 7 week treatment plan of radiation that began in February. Her surgical journey was complicated, and resulted in additional surgeries and hospitalizations over the next several months. Ashlyn spent the entire summer recovering while continuing visits with multiple physicians of different specialties. She conquered all of this while still being a wife and mother and even went back to work as an RN at MMC & SurgiCenter. She was finally getting to a point where she could move forward with her life. Her #1 priority has always been her children and trying her best to keep their home life situation as “normal as possible” for them.

But in the spring of 2025, she developed some questionable back pain. Scans revealed a lesion on her spine and her doctors were fearful that the cancer had returned. The cancer was indeed active again—Ashlyn was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic breast cancer. She stopped the hormones blockers and began a new treatment in April. Her next set of scans in August revealed more lesions to her spine and also now in her hip, she then began a targeted chemotherapy from August to November. Her oncologist recommended an experimental clinical trial. Determined to make the most informed decision possible, Ashlyn sought multiple second opinions, including traveling to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Another set of scans revealed more new lesions to her spine along with iliac lymph node involvement. The specialists at MD Anderson agreed with the suggested plan of the TN oncologist so they also recommended the clinical trial. So Ashlyn committed herself fully to this next phase of treatment and started participating in the clinical trial in December of 2025. She has continued to endure the trial and its many difficult side effects. Throughout it all, one of her greatest challenges was the debilitating back pain. She underwent two kyphoplasty procedures in hopes of finding relief, but unfortunately, both were unsuccessful.

Around a month ago, Ashlyn underwent a laminectomy to remove diseased portions of her vertebrae to decompress the nerves that have been causing her so much pain. Although the surgery provided some improvement, her pain remains, and she has developed new pain since the surgery. At her recent post-op appt, she was given the heartbreaking news that this may be as much improvement as she can expect.

To top it off, her most recent scans revealed new, small lesions on her liver. Because of this progression, she no longer qualifies to continue treatment with the clinical trial. She has now been placed on oral chemotherapy and is once again enduring the difficult and unwanted side effects that come with it.

Since the day she was diagnosed, Ashlyn has done absolutely everything her doctors have asked of her. She has endured chemotherapy (IV and Oral), radiation, multiple surgeries & procedures, hospitalizations, an experimental clinical trial, countless appointments, difficult side effects, and unrelenting pain. She has sought second opinions and continued moving forward through every setback that she’s encountered with a positive attitude and a smile on her face. She has fought with courage, determination, and unwavering faith—not only for herself, but for the chance to continue watching her four children grow up. Those babies need their mama.

Ashlyn is now at a crossroads in her journey. Despite following every recommendation and exhausting the treatment options offered to her thus far, her cancer has continued to progress. But she’s not giving up and neither are we! Because our God is the ultimate physician and healer and we are trusting HIM to open this door for our dear friend Ashlyn, this incredible human being who deserves this opportunity. We believe it is time to explore an additional approach and give Ashlyn every possible chance to continue this fight! She has given us permission to share her story and for us to start up a Go Fund Me !

Our goal is to raise $66,000 so Ashlyn can receive an extensive treatment program at the Hope4Cancer Treatment Center in Cancún, Mexico. These funds will help cover the cost of her treatment plan, travel, lodging, etc.

We know this is a significant amount, but we also know the power of faith, prayer, generosity, and community. No donation is too small. Every contribution brings Ashlyn one step closer to accessing this treatment and represents hope for more time—more birthdays, more holidays, more family memories, and more precious moments with her husband and children.

If you are unable to donate, please at least consider sharing Ashlyn’s story and joining us in prayer. Pray for healing, strength, comfort, wisdom, and renewed hope as she enters this next chapter.

Ashlyn spent years serving others as a registered nurse, offering compassion and care to people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Now, it is our opportunity to continue to surround Ashlyn and her family with that same love and support.

Thank you for reading Ashlyn’s story, praying for her, sharing this fundraiser, and supporting her family during this incredibly difficult journey.
