Update #2:
Ashlyn spent a majority of the last month in-patient at Garnet Hospital. Her medical team decided it would be best to insert a Mediport for easy access for lab work, medications, and immunotherapy infusions that she is still receiving. They also had her complete 5 days of radiation in conjunction with her immunotherapy. This was very taxing on her body and she needed to increase the dosage of her pain medications because of it. She battled daily fevers with radiation and was bed ridden for over a week because of it. The size of her tumor and pain throughout her body made the simple task of taking a deep breath, a struggle for her. She also accumulated over two liters of malignant fluid in her left lung which required a chest tube inserted to remove it and allow her to breathe easier. Ashlyn has successfully spent the last seven days out of the hospital, which is the longest stretch she’s been home in months. Tomorrow is her third infusion of immunotherapy, the first time they will be using her Mediport for access.

Thank you so much for all the generous donations, some of which has contributed to Ashlyn being able to get much needed medical supplies; including but not limited to, a walker and hopefully soon a motorized scooter to help her mobility, as she is struggling with left sided weakness due to the tumors size - pushing on nerves and major arteries.
Ashlyn’s keeping her spirits high despite the ongoing pain and hospitalizations. She’s facing this fight with all of your love and support and knows she couldn’t do this without all of you. Thank you for continuing to be her community ❤️

In March 2025, 27-year-old Ashlyn received news that would change her life forever: she was diagnosed with stage four sarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer.
Her story began in late December, when she started missing work due to persistent pain in her back and side.
Around the same time, Ashlyn was in a car accident and visited urgent care. Although no serious injuries were detected, her pain continued. She was referred to physical therapy, but despite weeks of effort, her symptoms only worsened.
After months of unanswered questions, dozens of doctors appointments, countless x-rays, CTs, and MRIs, doctors finally uncovered the truth: Ashlyn had a large, onion-sized mass on her kidney, along with heavily involved lymph nodes throughout her entire torso. The diagnosis-stage four kidney sarcoma-was devastating.

Since then, Ashlyn has been doing everything in her power to access the best care possible. She pursued approval to be treated at the world-renowned Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. After weeks of waiting, she was granted insurance approval for a single consultation at MSK, where she will be able to hear their recommendation for her plan of care. Unfortunately, insurance won’t cover treatment at MSK, all care will be carried out by her local physician.
This situation has placed a tremendous burden on Ashlyn
—not only emotionally, but financially. She is now preparing to undergo intensive treatments, while navigating insurance limitations, missed work, and the overwhelming cost of care.
We are raising funds to support Ashlyn with:
* Ongoing medical care and treatment
* Travel and lodging for consultation at Sloan Kettering
* Prescription medications and recovery needs
* Essential living expenses during treatment
Ashlyn is strong, hopeful, and deeply loved by her family and friends.

Ashlyn has always faced hardship with remarkable strength and resilience. No matter what life has thrown at her, she's gotten back on her feet. She is courageous, bold, hilarious, kind, and fiercely bright. She is absolutely worthy of all the care, love, and resources this world can offer. The world is brighter with her in it, and right now, she needs our help to fight.

Any donation, no matter the size, will make a difference. If you can't give, please consider sharing this page with others who may be able to help.

Let's rally behind Ashlyn and show her she's not facing this alone.

UPDATE::
Memorial Sloan Kettering is continuing to fight insurance to get Ashlyn accepted for treatment at their facility. Their best guess is that this is a kidney sarcoma however it is not typical for sarcoma to spread the way that hers did; from the kidney all the way to the lymph node in her neck. They said that the biopsy of the lymph node showed a lot of lymphocytes, and that was a good sign that immunotherapy could work well for Ashlyn‘s case. Further testing: biopsies, imaging, and blood work can come later to try and figure out exactly what we’re working with.
All doctors agree on one thing: Treatment needs to start immediately. Ashlyn symptoms have gotten significantly worse in the last month and a half and she does not have another month to wait around and delay treatment any longer.

Ashlyn received her first infusion of immunotherapy this morning (May 9th). We thank you all so much for your financial and emotional support given to Ashlyn at this time. Please continue your efforts. The fight has just begun!
