Hello friends, as many of you know, Shelly's daughter, Ashlynn (16), was in a rollover accident on Saturday, Feb. 28. Ashlynn was airlifted to Sanford Hospital due to lacerations to her head. Once surgery was complete stitching up her head, an MRI was conducted to see what other injuries she sustained. As results came back, our hearts sank. Ashlynn has broken ribs, fractured and broken vertebrae in her back, a collapsed lung, and could not feel anything below her belly button. She again went into surgery that lasted 5 hours to place pins, rods, and brackets in her back. After waking up from surgery, Ashlynn is able to feel her thighs, but nothing below her knees. She will be spending at least 7 days in the ICU before moving to another unit in the hospital.
Shelly and Ashlynn have a long road of recovery ahead of them. Shelly is a single mother who has always worked hard to provide for her daughter, but at this time, she could use the help of those around her as she will not be working at this time as she will be with her daughter to navigate through this unknown journey. Please help us in taking away some financial stress for medical bills, rent, and other expenses that will be weighing heavily on Shelly’s mind.
