Support Ashley's Recovery from Pulmonary Embolisms

Hello, my name is Kristine, and I am setting up this GoFundMe to assist my cousin Ashley and her family during a very difficult time.

Ashley was experiencing shortness of breath and unbearable chest/shoulder pain for two days. On Monday (1/13), she woke up spitting up blood. She went to the ER where they said she had pneumonia, gave her antibiotics, and sent her home. The day went by, and the sleepless night passed with more blood and more excruciating pain, in which she had no choice but to go back to the ER. Because of her declining state, they quickly did blood work and a CT of her chest, which showed “multiple and extensive bilateral pulmonary embolisms with infarction.” She was listed as in critical condition and admitted to the unit.

Ashley unfortunately used the little sick time she had this year to care for herself or her 3 beautiful children when they were sick. She now is forced to take “unpaid” medical leave.

The unknown journey that lies ahead for Ashley is unknown at this time. She needs to focus on rebuilding her strength while seeking answers as to what caused this sudden illness. As she navigates this tough road ahead, it would be a blessing to try to alleviate the financial burden that is sure to accrue due to lack of work. Donations will be used towards household expenses as well as to run tests to find out the cause and treatments to help her recover that some of which unfortunately insurance is not willing to pay for.
