Help Ashley Heal After Her Cycling Accident

Our dear friend and fellow CapTex rider, Ashley Loyd, was injured in a bike crash on our Thursday night ride. While riding down Barton Springs Road, she hit a road bump and went down hard—slamming her knee and hitting her face on the pavement.

Ashley needed 8 stitches above her eyebrow, is now on crutches with a knee stabilizer, and is facing what looks like a serious ligament injury in her knee. We’ll know more after she sees the orthopedist next week, but she’s looking at a long recovery ahead.

If you’ve ever ridden with Ashley, you know she’s a total light on two wheels. She never complains, shows up with a smile, and brings positivity and grit to every ride. Just last month, she completed her first Bike MS: Round-Up Ride, pedaling for two days and raising money to help end multiple sclerosis.

In addition to being a dedicated cyclist and a great teammate, Ashley is a hard-working manager at Starbucks. This injury is keeping her off the bike—and more importantly, off her feet and out of work. With medical bills piling up and lost wages, the financial strain is real.
