My name is Mödred and this GoFundMe is for my wife, Ashely. I’m reaching out during one of the most difficult moments of our lives. I’m asking for help... and not lightly, but because we’ve reached a point where we truly cannot do this alone..

Back in June 2025, my wife Ashley and I made a life changing decision. We left everything behind in the United States to start things fresh in the Netherlands. We believed we could build a better future for ourselves. One with improved healthcare, a healthier lifestyle, and the chance to grow our business, Pawsport to Purradise, into something successful.

We arrived with just a few belongings, what little savings we had left, and a lot of hope of starting a better life.

By August, after navigating the legal process, we officially launched our business. Things started to take off quickly. Within weeks, we had bookings lined up for months ahead. For the first time, it felt like everything was falling into place.

Then everything changed...

Our 6-year-old cat, Wednesday, unexpectedly passed away in a traumatic way. She wasn’t just a pet, she was Ashley’s emotional support through years of medical challenges, surgeries, and the isolation of COVID-19... She was like a child to her...

What we went through that day is something we will never forget...

From performing CPR, running door to door for help, and ultimately losing her. It left a deep emotional scar on both of us, one that may never truly heal.

We tried to keep going. We really did.

But in the months that followed, Ashley’s mental health declined significantly. The grief, combined with everything we had already been carrying, became overwhelming.

Without a strong local support system, it became harder and harder to function, let alone run a business...

By March, things had reached a breaking point...

Ashley was struggling with severe depression and suicidal thoughts, and all of the programs in the Netherlands was in a foreign language.

At that moment, nothing mattered more than getting her help. We used nearly all of our remaining funds to send her back to the United States so she could be close to her family and begin residential inpatient mental health treatment.

She is now getting the care she needs, but it has come at a cost we were not prepared for.

I, and all of her medical equipment, are still in the Netherlands.

All of Ashley’s essential belongings are here: her wheelchair, medical equipment, clothing, personal items, and irreplaceable memories.

I also need to bring our remaining cats safely back with me.

We are trying to raise at least $6,000 to:

1. Cover a flight back to the United States for me: $1400.

2. Cover the cost of check baggage: $200 (Clothing/Equipment for Pet).

3. EU Pet Passport for Cats: $75.

3. Transport our cats safely: $150.

4. Ship Ashley’s medical equipment and personal belongings: $2,500.

5. 1 Month Stay at an AirBnB: $1,275.

6: Storage Unit for 1 month: $200.

7: Food for 1 Month: $200.

Anything beyond this goal will go directly toward Ashley’s ongoing mental health treatment, rebuilding a stable home environment (Rent and Deposit), and basic living expenses as we restart our lives.

Our families have already given everything they can to help us get this far. Asking for help like this is incredibly hard but right now, we have no other options.
