In August, my heart stopped twice. I have Prolonged QT Syndrome, but it is unspecified, so insurance won’t cover the implanted defibrillator my doctor recommends. I’ve been referred to the Mayo Clinic for further care, however they won’t accept Colorado Medicaid so I have to pay out of pocket. My heart rate can’t be over 120 bpm for extended periods, which means I can’t work right now. I’ve used up my savings and hope to return to work, even part time, in a few months.
