Ashley and I have been together for 18 years, and throughout that time, she’s always had a small, discolored bump on her collar bone. For years, doctors reassured her it was nothing serious—just scar tissue or a benign granuloma. But over the past six months, the bump began to grow and darken, and despite her concerns, her dermatologist continued to downplay it. It wasn’t until Ashley insisted on a biopsy that we finally got answers: the bump was actually a rare skin cancer called dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans.
Thankfully, Froedtert Cancer Center in Milwaukee was able to see Ashley quickly, and she underwent surgery to remove the cancer. Unfortunately, the doctors weren’t able to get all of it the first time, and she now faces a second, deeper surgery to ensure the cancer is fully removed. The recovery has been painful, especially knowing the wound will need to be reopened. On top of this, imaging during her cancer screening revealed another anomaly on her right ovary, which may require further treatment and more time away from work.
We’re hoping to raise funds to help cover Ashley’s mounting medical bills, biopsy labs, and the lost income from her time off work for surgery and recovery. Your support will help ease the financial burden and allow Ashley to focus on healing.
If you’re able to donate, share, or simply keep us in your thoughts, please know it means more than we can ever express. And if you’re struggling too, we understand—there is absolutely no pressure. Your kindness, in any form, is deeply appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for standing with us during one of the hardest chapters of our lives.
