Ashley is 35 years old, married to her husband, Sinh, for almost nine years, and the proud mother of three incredible children: Aubrey (17) and 10-year-old twins, Quynh and Snow.
If you know Ashley, you know she’s one of the strongest, kindest, and most selfless people you’ll ever meet. She became a single mother at just 18 years old while still in high school and has spent her entire adult life putting her family before herself. She has always been the person others can count on, and now it’s our turn to be there for her.
Ashley has been part of the Wind Creek Bethlehem family since the property first opened in 2011 under Las Vegas Sands. Over the years, she helped open the hotel, worked as a table games dealer, was promoted to dual-rate supervisor, and now works as a cocktail server. Whether serving guests or spending time with friends and family, Ashley brings kindness, positivity, and compassion everywhere she goes.
Just four weeks ago, Ashley’s life changed forever.
After experiencing several days of symptoms, she went to the doctor, where testing revealed a tumor in her bladder. Following surgery and additional testing, our family received heartbreaking news: Ashley has been diagnosed with Stage 2 small cell bladder cancer, a rare and aggressive form of bladder cancer.
While this diagnosis has turned our world upside down, Ashley has already shown the same strength and determination that has carried her through every challenge life has put in front of her. She will soon begin chemotherapy, and our family is standing beside her every step of the way as she fights this battle.
Unfortunately, cancer doesn’t just take a physical and emotional toll, it also creates an enormous financial burden.
As a cocktail server, Ashley’s income is largely tip-based, so every day she misses for treatment is a significant loss of income. Ashley’s husband, Sinh, is doing everything he can to keep their family afloat during this difficult time. He will need to take time away from work to drive Ashley to treatments, attend appointments, and care for her throughout her recovery. At the same time, Sinh will also need to miss work to take her to appointments, care for her, and be by her side throughout treatment. Between lost wages, medical expenses, travel, and countless unexpected costs, I’m sure the financial stress can quickly become overwhelming.
I’m creating this fundraiser because I know my sister would never ask for help herself. Anyone who knows Ashley knows she’d be the first person to help someone else, but she’d never want to be the one asking.
Our hope is that these donations will ease some of the financial burden so Ashley and Sinh can focus on what truly matters, her health, her recovery, and making memories with their children, instead of worrying about how they’re going to pay the next bill.
