Hello, we are Ashley and Zach. We recently lost our home and our pets in a house fire caused by our dog jumping against the oven to get something on the counter, which turned the oven on and caught a box on fire. It spread from there. We lost our dog, Navi and our two cats, Mama and Big Kitty. A devastating loss we are still reeling from.

On top of that, our home is uninhabitable. Zach purchased our home himself 5 years ago and invested everything into it. We are staying at a hotel while we look for a new place to call home, though it’ll never be home without our pets. This is going to be a big task to do on our own, so any help is very much appreciated.

As you might expect, there are many expenses in our future. Including cremating our fur babies and cleaning up the aftermath of the fire.

We’ll need this month:

A new apartment ($1,000+)

Still pay lot rent on our home ($640+)

Trash pick up service - Bio Hazard clean up ($350)

Temp construction to patch the hole ($200)

Pet cremation ($300)

Our clothes cleaned ($50+)

Our salvageable items cleaned and stored ($100)

Maybe repurchase some items that were lost (kitchen items, table, couch, desk, etc..)

And many other expenses, including renovation or tear down (depending on if the home is worth saving).

We have been quoted $80,000 in repairs, but are looking for additional quotes still.

We have also been quoted a teardown of $8,000.

edit: we were able to pick up our babies from Heavens Gate today, Aug 9th. They are in beautiful engraved cherry oak boxes. We are so lucky that we get to keep this piece of them.
