Support Ashley and Brandon After Devastating Crash

Hey friends,

My name is Ashley Angell. I really hate asking for help when I need it, but in this case, I don't feel like I have a choice. My husband, Brandon, and I were in a head-on collision while on vacation in another state. We were in my hometown, Pagosa Springs, Colorado, to spread my mother's ashes and reconnect with friends from my hometown that I hadn't seen in years. A woman in a truck hit us head-on while we were on the way to see my childhood home, and she failed to yield to a yellow arrow. Thirty seconds that changed our entire trip and our lives.

I was taken away in an ambulance, and I have a fractured sternum and a transverse lumbar process fracture. Brandon sprained both of his wrists and is experiencing nerve pain. Our car that we worked so hard for is completely totaled. I spent $535 for repairs on it less than a week before the accident.

I am a hairstylist, and Brandon is a silk screen printer; we both use our bodies to work. At this point, we are both having to make the choice to go back to work before we are completely healed because we have no other choice. However, I am not slated to go back until next week and have been out of work for the entire month of October. As you know, rent is coming up, and there are other things we need help with. Our second vehicle needs an oil change, and the brakes are going out. This is the vehicle we will be relying on to get to and from work when we go back. We have a number of bills that are past due and will be behind on. My health insurance through work is supposed to start on Nov 1st, but because I haven't been working, I will have to pay out of pocket for it in the meantime to start it up. We also need to get groceries so we can eat before our next paychecks come in. So I am asking our community to help us while we get back on our feet.
