West Rutland recently lost another cherished 'stone pegger.' Phil Sienicki, 67, was a beloved member of the community who fought a courageous battle with leukemia. Despite being told last December that he had only about five months to live, Phil amazed everyone with his strength and resilience. Throughout his illness, his daughter Ashley Wetherby became his devoted caregiver and care manager, guiding him through the long and difficult road ahead.

Ashley’s journey has been especially challenging. Six years ago, at the start of the Covid pandemic, she lost her mother. Now, with Phil’s passing, Ashley is left to face the world without both of her parents. She plans to honor their memory with a celebration of life for both of them this coming spring, bringing together friends and family to remember the love and legacy they shared.

Ashley could use all the help she can get as she navigates this new chapter alone. The funds raised will go toward funeral costs, medical bills, and the many household expenses that come with such a sudden loss. Your support will help ease the financial burden and show Ashley that her community stands with her. Please consider donating to help Ashley through this difficult time and to honor the memory of Phil and his wife.
