Hi family and friends.
This gofundme was set up for Ashia Snipe, her family, and the memory of her beloved son Jaylen Fitzpatrick, whose life was tragically cut short by a hit and run.
Jaylen was such a sweet soul. My forever valentine, born February 14, 2008. Jaylen was a smart, loving, and determined young man. Whatever he put his mind to do, he accomplished. Jaylen was funny and always made everyone laugh. He was my first born child and my pride and joy. So in love with him, I did everything in my power to keep a smile on his face. I even learned how to cook because I didn’t want him eating oatmeal for dinner every night! He was my motivation in life, my reason, who kept me going, who inspired me to be and give my best every day.
Jaylen had so much going on before he was taken from me. He just got a job, started learning how to drive. He was ready to take on the world! He was making me SO proud. He finally decided he wanted to go to college after I’ve been pulling teeth to get him to just finish high school! So many opportunities lost because a woman chose to run my baby over in the street and leave him there to die.
While every day without him is painful, I will keep going in Jaylen’s memory and will continue to use him as motivation.
There aren’t enough words to fit how big Jaylen’s spirit was. He will live on forever in the hearts and minds of all he’s touched.
During this difficult time, we are calling on our village to help Ashia and her family with funds for household expenses, memorial costs, food, and other expenses. Jaylen left behind a little brother, Jeremiah who adored him like any little brother does. Jaylen was his hero.
This loss has taken a great toll on the family and no one deserves to go through tough times alone. The family is also seeking justice for Jaylen’s death. Let’s show them what community looks like as we try to ease at least one burden as they navigate through this difficult time.
Please feel free to contact the organizer with any resources or tools for the family.
