Asher was born October 9 by a caesarean section. Mike was able to hold him for a little bit, and then it was decided that he needed to go to Sioux Falls Sanford Neonatal. He needed oxygen, and his respirations were fast. He was also given some antibiotics. Kristen was so sick after the caesarean that she didn't get to hold him. He has been in Sioux Falls since then. He was on a ventilator for 9 days.

On October 17, Kristen got an early birthday present and finally got to hold him. He has been making progress, but still hasn't been cleared to go home.
